You probably can also get a work permit from their school and work a couple of hours (if your state law allows) in a place like packing groceries and some fast food and ice cream shops ... however, are few and have strict rules and schedules.

Is running errands such as laundry, babysitting, cleaning ... but I'm guessing you know that already. Look for something that has a hobby, start a garden and sold on the local farmers market. If you are artistic, make cards, shirts, etc, to aid parents, you can sell on etsy or shops. You can also (under the laws of your state) to take the American Red Cross safety courses in water and become a lifesaver. Just some thoughts.
